Sponsorship the name of the game for Stratford opticians
A LOCAL opticians has signed on as the official sponsorship partner of Stratford Town Football Club’s newest team, the Mini Grasshoppers.
Specsavers Stratford-upon-Avon, who already sponsor the club’s junior Grasshoppers section, will be continuing their partnership with the football club by supporting the newly formed Mini Grasshoppers. The sponsorship will enable the club to buy new equipment and merchandise including mini footballs, cones, hurdles, hoops and goals for the pint-sized team which caters for children aged between two and four years old.
The Mini Grasshoppers sponsorship is part of an ongoing relationship the store has with Stratford Town Football Club, which is now in its fourth year. As well as helping to support the juniors, the store’s support also helps the first team and the upkeep of the pitch.
Melanie Tweddle, Stratford Town Football Club Chairman, says: ‘We are so pleased and thankful to Specsavers for their continued support. The sponsorship benefits children of all abilities and ensures those in the local community who want to play football and be active can enjoy the club and all it offers! We run fun based sessions where the kids learn the basic fundamentals of the game while developing movement, co-ordination, balls skills, social skills and core strength.’
Store director, Paul Griffiths, says: ‘We are thrilled to be continuing our sponsorship of Stratford Town Football Club. We are always excited to be contributing to the health and development of our young people in the community and think that this is a great way to do so. We hope to carry on this partnership for many years to come!’
The Mini-Grasshoppers sessions take place on a Saturday morning and are for children aged between 2-4 years old, while the Grasshoppers Saturday morning session is for 5-14 year olds.
